Hi everyone! It’s been awhile since I wrote a blog but I am SO pumped to give you all an update on what I’ve been doing.
I’m sure you can tell by the title of this blog that I have a super exciting announcement about what’s next! But first things first, I’d love to fill you in on what I’ve been doing these past few months!
I have been in Gainesville, Georgia for three months now, taking classes with other world race alumni through something called CGA! If you missed my last blog from the summer, don’t fret! I’ll explain a little bit about what this program is all about and what life has looked like here!
CGA (Center for Global Action) is a semester long leadership and discipleship school though Adventures and Missions, that empowers us to use the gifts we have been given to bring Kingdom on earth! Our daily classes have been super challenging in the best ways. Our leaders have done an incredible job of pushing us towards growth and teaching us to lead ourselves in that same way, and I have seen so much fruit from everything I’m learning. I also live in community with other gap year alumni, which has been the greatest blessing. Not only do I live with 5 other girls in this program, but we also have the best house mentors! Shoutout to the Swans for opening their house to us and letting us be a part of their family for our five months here! On top of class and community, I also have a job (yay for Kroger!) where I have been encouraged to apply what I’m learning out in the Gainesville community. How cool!!
Overall, CGA has been the best, hardest, most rewarding season of my life so far, and I’m so thankful to be here. The community I spend every day with is truly a promise from the Lord that has come to fruition so beautifully, and over the course of the semester so far, I have seen a tremendous amount of growth in myself as a leader.
Soooo you may be wondering, “Reagan, what the heck are you doing next?” Well I’ve got some VERYYY exciting news to share with you! I have been given the opportunity to LEAD a World Race trip for three months in Nicaragua! I launch on January 4th to lead and do ministry with a team of gap year Racers, and I could not be more excited. On top of the ministry that my squad is assigned, pouring into and discipling my team will be my main ministry while on the field! Again, HOW COOL!!? In 2019 I had the chance to travel to Nicaragua through my home church, and I cannot wait to be back in one of my favorite places. To follow along with this trip, be sure to subscribe to this blog so you don’t miss an update 🙂
Now for the fun part hehe: Fundraising! I still have to raise about $1700 by December to meet my final CGA fundraising deadline. Then that beautiful fundraising bar at the top of this page will reset, and I will need to raise an additional $3000 to fund my three months in Nicaragua! It feels like quite a lot of money for such a short amount of time, but I have seen the Lord move in incredible ways through fundraising and have full faith that He will provide where He has called me!
Over the last two years of fundraising, I have learned that giving my “yes” to the Lord isn’t just about me… it also creates an invitation for so many others to be a part of what the Lord is doing! I like to think of it this way: Not only does financial support keep me in CGA and help send me to Nicaragua, it also goes toward the ministry and discipleship of the team that I lead! One more time, say it with me… HOW. COOL.
If you are interested in supporting me financially, you can do so by clicking the “donate” button at the top of this page. Donations through this link are tax deductible! If you aren’t able to give at this time, there’s an even better way that you can partner with me: Prayer! I would love it if you joined me in praying for continued provision in my fundraising, and that the Lord would equip me as I step into this leadership role.
Thank you all so much for the continued support and encouragement throughout these crazy last couple of years. You’ll be seeing more blogs from me soon, but in the meantime, don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
Sending love,
Reagan 🙂
