Hey everyone! I hope you’re all doing well!

You might be surprised to see another blog post from me, but I’m here to share some super exciting news with you! So keep on reading! πŸ™‚

First of all, I just want to say THANK YOU for following my World Race journey, whether through this blog, social media, or just keeping in contact with me. And thank you for your support, both financially and in prayer! None of it went unnoticed, and this year would not have been possible without it.

I can confidently say that the World Race radically changed my life, and that this year taught me a pretty funny (but not always so fun) lesson: When you surrender your life to the Lord and ask Him to change/refine whatever He wants to, HE WILL. Silly me for thinking anything less πŸ™‚

As I learned more and more about what it looked like to release my plans and expectations and hand my life over to the One in control, my plans for life after the Race shifted. When I first applied for the World Race about a year and a half ago, I deferred from a college I fell in love with, and was set on sticking with it. I’ve always loved school, I was very much looking forward to going to college, and everything was set for me to come home and go straight into those next four years of school. So you can imagine my frustration/confusion when I felt the Lord pulling me away from those plans. I HATED that this dream of mine didn’t feel right anymore, and that I had no idea what I was going to do when I got home. But all I knew was that no matter how different from my original plans, I wanted to to submit to the will of God in my life.

I prayed a LOT for the desires of my heart to match up with God’s will, because so far they just weren’t matching up at all, haha! I didn’t want to make any big decision from a place of personal desires. As time went on, through months of discerning what the Lord has next for me, I was pointed again and again to CGA (I’ll tell you more about what that is in a minute, hang tight!). What started out as being upset about this change of plans suddenly could not feel more right! Crazy how He changes hearts like that!

So I’m here to share this exciting news with you! This August I’ll be moving to Gainesville, Georgia for 5 months to be a part of CGA!

CGA (Center for Global Action) is a leadership and discipleship training school for World Race alumni, at the Adventures in Missions base in Gainesville. (This is the same place where I had my two weeks of training camp last summer for the World Race!) While in Gainesville I will be attending classes every day with other WR alumni, as well as working and volunteering in the community.

My time at CGA will equip me with life and leadership skills in order to bring everything I learned on the World Race back into America and to wherever I go next. These 5 months will mold me to look more like Jesus in my day-to-day life, and teach me to share the gospel even in mundane and normal life! This is something I am SO excited to grow more in. On my Race I experienced getting to evangelize and share truth from the squatter camps of South Africa to the streets of Cambodia, but I don’t want the way I share Jesus with others to look any different in Walmart or on a walk through my neighborhood than it did on the other side of the world!

I already know that CGA is going to stretch me and challenge me in ways that won’t be entirely comfortable, but if I’ve learned anything from this past year, it’s that the uncomfortable stuff is what changes me most. It’s always the things I try to tell myself I could never do that I end up falling in love with and craving more of! SO LET’S DO THIS THING!!!

I’m looking forward to writing new blogs throughout my time at CGA, and I have a NEW blog website where I’ll be doing that! Be sure to go check it out and subscribe to see all my updates this year!

Not only do I want to share these next steps with you, but I want to invite you into them! In order to be a part of CGA, I need to fundraise about $5000. $2000 of this total will need to be raised before I move in on August 7th. (A blessing in disguise: being sent home from the World Race earlier than expected means I get a “discount” of having to raise $1000 less than I would have needed! Woohoo!) Last year I fundraised almost $17,000 for the World Race gap year, and I saw the Lord move in INCREDIBLE ways through raising that money. With all that being said, if you or anyone you know would be interested in donating, I would really appreciate it! All of these funds cover my housing and the cost of the program for all 5 months. Investing in me and in this opportunity I’ve been given is not just paying for a 19 year old girl to move out of state, it is investing in the Kingdom, and I wholeheartedly believe that.

Donations can be made in a few different ways! You can make a tax-deductible donation by clicking the “donate” button at the top of this blog page. You can also Venmo me (@rpolcyn) or mail a check to my address!
